Sideline bleeding control that gets athletes back in the game
An athletic trainer's job is part medicine, part fast decision-making. A turf cut, a basketball elbow to the nose, a fingertip slice. These are not arterial bleeds, but they are bleeds that disqualify an athlete from play under most blood-rule protocols until they're closed. AllaQuix® is the OTC, FDA-reviewed, no-prescription kit that handles each of these scenarios quickly and reliably.
High-Performance chitosan gauze works mechanically and doesn't depend on the clotting cascade, so it handles harder bleeds. AllaQuix® Nose Bleed plugs are calcium alginate sized for nasal use, easy to insert during a TV timeout. AllaQuix® Bandages cover the everyday scrape so the athlete is back on the bench in seconds.

FAQ
Common questions from procurement + clinical teams
What hemostatic dressing belongs in an athletic trainer's kit?
An athletic trainer's bleed-control kit should cover three scenarios: a moderately serious cut from turf or contact, a recurring or stubborn nosebleed, and the everyday scrape. AllaQuix® High-Performance chitosan gauze handles the first. AllaQuix® Nose Bleed calcium alginate plugs handle the second. AllaQuix® Bandages handle the third. All three are FDA reviewed and cleared, OTC, no prescription. Pair the chitosan gauze with AllaQuix® Wrapid self-stick foam wrap to secure dressings without putting adhesive on skin.
How do you stop a sideline nosebleed quickly?
Sit the athlete upright and lean them slightly forward, then pinch the soft part of the nose for a full 10 minutes. If it doesn't stop or recurs immediately, insert an AllaQuix® Nose Bleed calcium alginate plug into the bleeding nostril and hold light pressure. Keep the athlete from blowing their nose afterward.
Is AllaQuix® safe for athletes who shave or wax?
Yes. AllaQuix® Bandages use a hypoallergenic adhesive that's gentle on skin, and the chitosan and calcium alginate dressings are drug-free. As with any dressing, apply to clean skin and avoid freshly irritated areas where possible.
Does AllaQuix® work on athletes who take aspirin or fish oil?
Yes. AllaQuix® High-Performance chitosan works independently of the clotting cascade, so it's effective even for people whose clotting is slowed by aspirin, fish oil, or other blood thinners. It's for minor topical bleeding only.
Can I wrap a wound with AllaQuix® Wrapid?
Yes. AllaQuix® Wrapid is a self-stick foam wrap that secures a dressing without putting adhesive on skin or hair — ideal for sideline use. Press an AllaQuix® High-Performance gauze on the bleed, then wrap with Wrapid to hold it in place.
Is there a discount for athletic departments?
Yes. We offer bulk and case pricing for athletic departments and training programs. Request an evaluation pack or talk to sales to set up pricing for your program.
